Promo codes: how they work and where real ones come from
A promo code is a short word or string that tells the cashier which offer you want. It does not create a bonus on its own and it does not change the rules of the offer it unlocks. Most problems with codes come from timing — entering it after the deposit — or from codes copied from pages that have nothing to do with the operator. This guide covers where codes come from, how to enter one and what to do when it does not work.
Whether Garage runs this type of offer for your account, and on what terms, is shown on the operator’s promotions page. Amounts, percentages and wagering are set by Garage; the bonus terms on the operator’s site are final.
Go to the offerWhere real codes are published
The reliable sources are the operator’s own channels: the promotions page, the cashier, messages in your account and newsletters you opted into. Partner sites sometimes carry codes agreed with a casino, but even then the code has to exist in the operator’s system and its terms are the operator’s. We do not invent codes on this site; if a campaign needs one, the cashier shows the field and the offer description tells you what to type.
How to enter a code correctly
- Read the offer first: minimum deposit, eligible payment methods, wagering and deadline.
- Open the deposit form and look for the promo or bonus code field.
- Type the code exactly — spaces and similar-looking characters are a common cause of errors.
- Confirm that the offer shows as selected before you send the payment.
- After the deposit, check that the bonus balance and the wagering counter appear in your account.
Why a code does not work
| Message or symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Code invalid | Typo, expired campaign or a code for another market | Re-type it; compare with the promotions page |
| Code accepted, no bonus | Deposit below the minimum or excluded method | Check the offer terms, then contact support |
| Bonus missing after payment | Code entered after the deposit | Ask support; retroactive credit is not standard |
| Offer not available | Account already used a one-time offer | Look for current reloads or cashback instead |
Spotting fake codes
Be sceptical of codes promising unusually large amounts, "no wagering" on everything or bonuses that work at any casino. Pages built only around code lists often recycle old or invented strings. A quick check is always possible: if the same offer is not described on the operator’s site, do not rely on it — and never send personal or payment details to anyone who offers you a code privately.
Codes and sports offers
Sportsbook promotions sometimes use codes as well, for example to unlock a free bet or an odds boost. The same rule applies: the code selects the offer, while the minimum odds, qualifying bet types and expiry come from the terms. See the bet types guide before choosing a qualifying bet.
Bonus codes, coupon codes and voucher codes
Bonus code, coupon code, voucher code and promo code are names for the same mechanism. Enter it before paying, confirm the offer is selected and read the terms that come with it. A code is a key, not a promise of value; the value is decided by the wagering and the games you are allowed to use.
